I am using windows for almost 8-10 years and have never worked on linux. Mostly i used to work in VB, VC++ MFC and little bit of .NET(C# and VB) so i didn't bother about Linux. But now when i got an opportunity to work with linux i dont want to miss it, here are my questions :

Where can i find useful resources for Linux newbies?

Which books/Tutorials will you suggest to start?

Which distro shall i use?

What was your experience while moving from Windows to Linux?
